Who We Are

Imagine an entire hospital focused on heart disease care and prevention with a Heart Emergency Center open 24/7. Imagine a hospital that achieves better outcomes and patient satisfaction by making heart care more personal and less intimidating. Imagine a hospital specially designed, equipped and staffed to keep your heart healthy and provide treatment when it's not. We've created that hospital — Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

Heart Hospital of Lafayette is changing the way cardiovascular care is provided, bringing patient-focused cardiac care to Acadiana. Swift, responsive and accurate, patient-focused care promotes a feeling of safety and security, fosters healing and ensures better results. We believe this approach is why Heart Hospital of Lafayette is rated one of the nation's Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals by Thomson Reuters, and why we continue to win awards and recognition for our commitment to patient outcomes and excellence in cardiac care.

Our History

Heart Hospital of Lafayette opened its doors on March 2, 2004. Owned by Our Lady of Lourdes in partnership with a group of investors, including physicians, Heart Hospital of Lafayette is part of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, or FMOLHS.

The Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Sisters arrived in Louisiana in the early 1900s with the mission of providing the best care possible to those most in need. Incorporated as a non-profit in 1984, FMOLHS now serves patients across Louisiana through a network of hospitals, clinics, physicians, elderly housing and integrated information systems.

Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, also part of FMOLHS, is a newly constructed facility with a staff of more than 400 physicians in a variety of medical and surgical specialties. Heart Hospital of Lafayette is at the "heart" of Our Lady of Lourdes as a nationally recognized cardiac care center with consistently high patient and employee satisfaction ratings.

While the face of healthcare has changed dramatically since the Sisters began their mission at the turn of the century, their commitment to care is unwavering. FMOLHS, Our Lady of Lourdes and Heart Hospital of Lafayette remain dedicated to delivering high-quality, cost-effective healthcare that increases patient satisfaction.
